Police: Suspects tie up victim, ransack apartment during armed robbery

Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Conway Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying five suspects in connection to an early Wednesday morning home invasion.

Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for the Conway Police Department, said officers were dispatched to an apartment on Ernest Finney Avenue just after midnight in reference to a home invasion.

After officers spoke with the victim, police learned an armed robbery occurred as the victim went outside to get an item from his vehicle.

While outside, the victim said an unknown suspect approached him with a gun and forced him back into his apartment. At the time of the incident, Hipp said the victim noted four other men were following the armed suspect.

The victim, according to police, was forced to the floor of his apartment as the suspects tied his hands behind his back. Following a brief assault, the victim said the suspects ransacked his apartment and took an undisclosed amount of jewelry, a cell phone and money from his pockets.

The victim was treated on scene by Horry County EMS for minor injuries.

The suspects involved in the incident are only described as one white male and four black males.
