Myrtle Beach, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A man accused of soliciting a 14-year-old victim online in 2008 has pleaded guilty to kidnapping charges Thursday, according to the Horry County Solicitor's Office.

Authorities allege Nathaniel Caldwell, of Myrtle Beach, solicited the 14-year-old girl in an online chat room and convinced her to run away from her home in Dorchester County. After arranging to pick her up from her house, the girl was said to have been accompanied by Caldwell for two days.

In connection to the incident, Caldwell was charged with kidnapping and a lewd act on a minor. Caldwell, according to officials, also faced accusations of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The Myrtle Beach resident was slated to appear in court in 2008 to face his charges, but failed to appear.

The Horry County Solicitor's Office said after Caldwell pleaded guilty to a kidnapping charge Thursday, all other charges were dismissed.

Caldwell has been sentenced to 15 years in jail.
