Local pharmacy to mark end of an era in MB

North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 50-year-old pharmacy will help mark the end of an era in Myrtle Beach, as employees prepare to close for business one final time on Wednesday night.

Located along Kings Highway, Northside Pharmacy is the last privately owned pharmacy in the City of Myrtle Beach.

Co-owner Jon Howell said the pharmacy's operations will be merging with the corporate world and moving to a CVS pharmacy located at 67th Avenue North and Kings Highway.

"It's been a good run," Howell said.

Three of the pharmacy's employees, including Howell, have been employed at the business for more than 30 years. All three will be at the pharmacy Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. to close its doors one final time.
