Florence County, SC - FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two South Carolina men are facing nearly 30 charges from the Florence County Sheriff's Office in connection with the thefts of TVs, jewelry, computers, cash, guns and a truck during a recent crime spree.
According to FCSO spokesman Capt. Michael Nunn, Demetrius Boyd, 25, of Mayesville, was arrested early Tuesday morning and booked into the detention center on one count of grand larceny and 11 counts of burglary. Andrew Davis, 28, of Darlington, is charged with nine counts of accessory after the fact of a felony and seven counts of accessory before the fact of a violent felony.
Nunn said both men were charged in connection with a series of thefts and burglaries in the Claussen community of Florence County.
Investigators say Boyd broke into numerous houses where he stole flat screen TVs, jewelry, computers, cash, cell phones, video game equipment, cameras and guns and sold them to Davis, who knew that the items were stolen.
Boyd and Davis were transported to Florence County for booking purposes from Darlington County where they were in custody for similar offenses. Boyd is also charged with the theft of a 1997 Toyota from College Lake Drive in Florence, which is believed to have been used in break-ins in Darlington County.
The investigation into these and other burglaries continues and additional charges are possible. Investigators ask anyone who has knowledge of these incidents or who has purchased any items from either Boyd or Davis to contact the Florence County Sheriff's Office at 843-665-2121, ext 434.
