Surfside Beach, SC - SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Officials at Monday's Surfside Beach town council meeting said turnout for the July 4th fireworks display was good.
Surfside Beach Mayor Allen Deaton said it was almost like last year's fireworks.
"It was actually comparable to last year, we're real excited about it," Deaton said.
Mayor Deaton said the beach was crowded like last year.
"It was shoulder to shoulder on the beach and the tide was lower, which gave people more room, so it worked out very well," Deaton said.
Mayor Deaton did say, however, there may have been some problems with people finding parking. There are plans in place for additional parking for big community beach events like next year's fireworks show.
