SC helicopter rescue team trains along coast

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (AP) - The South Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team will conduct its quarterly training along the coast this Saturday and Sunday.

Military aircraft and personnel will be operating Sunday near Sandy Island in Georgetown County.

The public is welcome to observe the exercises with the best viewing times being Sunday morning and afternoon.

The rescue team includes participants from the State Urban Search and Rescue Task Force, the state fire marshal, the Emergency Management Division and the Army National Guard Aviation Unit based at McEntire Air National Guard Station near Columbia.
