Horry County, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol has located and arrested a woman believed to be the suspect in a hit-and-run collision early Friday evening.
Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said a car struck a bicycle on US-17 near Briarcliff at 4:20 p.m. The vehicle in the accident was described as a silver or gold Toyota Camry with right-front damage.
The driver, Diane Plante, has since been located and charged with leaving the scene of a collision with personal injury. She is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
The bicyclist, who remains unidentified by investigators, was transported to an area hospital with a number of injuries.
