Male suspect sought in MB home burglary

Myrtle Beach, SC -

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a male suspect at the center of a home burglary on Thursday.

Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department were dispatched to an address on Chesterfield Court at 2:45 a.m. Thursday in reference to an unknown male in the residence.

Upon arrival, police learned a black male suspect entered the house and was spotted by one of two victims inside of the residence. The victim told police the suspect grabbed her by the arms and a struggle between the two ensued.

"As he approached me I immediately started screaming the police are coming I've called the police," said Donna Willette, one of the victims.  "He pinned me down at that point and I had pretty much lost my fight and as I looked from my right side he had a knife."

According to the police report, the victim's roommate appeared while the struggle was taking place. The roommate ran into the garage trying to escape, but the suspect followed her and attempted to pull her back in by her legs.

"He jumped up to run after her and she flew from the same door that he entered from the kitchen through the garage and she amazingly went through that same small opening," said Willette.

The roommate ran to a neighbors home and alerted police.

The two victims have described the suspect to police as a tall, lean black male standing approximately 6'2" and wearing a white shirt. A bandana, according to victim accounts, was partially covering the suspect's lower face.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or the incident is asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department immediately.
