Weeki Wachee Mermaids return to Ripley's Aquarium

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - They've been entertaining crowds across the nation for the last 63 years, and now the Weeki Wachee Mermaids are heading back to Myrtle Beach for the summer to perform at Ripley's Aquarium.

The mermaids, originating from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida, performed for 12 dates at Ripley's Aquarium last summer. The aquarium has booked the act for another 12 shows from July 23-25.

The mermaids are slated to perform four acts a day and will be available to meet and greet guests at the aquarium's Friendship Flats. The stage will be set up at Ray Bay - a 85,000 gallon saltwater tank populated with sharks and stingrays.

For ticket information, contact Ripley's Aquarium. Reservations are not available, and officials urge people to arrive early for the shows.

Ripley's Aquarium is located at Broadway at the Beach, situated along US-17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach.
