Garden City, SC - GARDEN CITY, SC (WMBF) - Walmart contractors are scheduled to begin roadwork Tuesday night in an effort to pave a final section of asphalt along the Garden City Connector.
Lisa Bourcier, spokeswoman for Horry County, said construction crews will pave the area of roadway through Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Officials expect the mainline paving and pavement marking operations will be completed at 5 a.m.
One lane of traffic will be open along the Garden City Connector, as flaggers direct traffic flow in both directions.
Drivers are being cautioned on the possibility of traffic delays during high-travel times. Alternate routes between US-17 Business and US-17 Bypass will be marked for drivers.
Walmart contractors, according to Bourcier, will complete paving operations to tie in all existing driveways to the new asphalt along the Garden City Connector Wednesday morning from 7-11 a.m.
