Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A 46-year-old man has been arrested by Horry County Police in connection to an armed robbery investigation in Conway.

Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for Horry County Police, said officers were dispatched to an address along Ford Taylor Road on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in reports to an armed robbery. Officers located a male victim upon arrival, who said he had a dispute with an acquaintance over money.

The victim later told police he emptied his pockets to show he had money only belonging to him, and that's when the suspect reportedly took the money from the victim.

Police said when the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect presented a knife and made threats towards the victim. The suspect, according to police, fled the scene.

Joey Wayne Todd, 46, of Conway, was later arrested for armed robbery at his residence and transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Todd has been released from custody on bond.
