MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Police arrested two people Saturday for allegedly stealing a purse from a woman at the Tanger Outlets on US-501.

According to HCPD spokesman Sgt. Robert Kegler, officers were called to the shopping center around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on a reported purse snatching. Witnesses said the suspects fled the area on SC-31.

Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle a short time later on Sea Mountain Highway and arrested Tara Marie Sweetman, 31, of Sunset Beach, NC, and Oscar Clifton Riley, 32, of Longs. Sweetman is charged with one count of purse snatching; Riley faces two charges of the same crime.

Kegler said investigators determined Riley was also wanted in connection with a purse snatching at a Little River gas station.
