Bennettsville, SC - BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - A Family Dollar employee in Bennettsville was robbed of nearly $4,000 Friday morning as she attempted to make a bank deposit.
Lt. Larry Turner, spokesman for the Bennettsville Police Department, said the woman was approached by a male suspect outside of the store on the 15/401 Bypass around 7:30 a.m.
The suspect is said to have taken a bank deposit bag, filled with $3,900, from the victim as she was attempting to get into her vehicle. Turner said the suspect fled from the area on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a clean-cut black male, standing 5'8" to 5'10" and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, black shirt and jeans at the time of the incident.
