Laptop, $5 stolen from woman during residential burglary

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A laptop and $5 were stolen from a woman during a burglary inside of her Myrtle Beach home, according to Myrtle Beach Police.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Chesterfield Court Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. in reference to the burglary. Upon arrival, police met with a woman who said an unknown man had entered her home while she was outside in her garage.

Police said the victim came in contact with the suspect inside of her kitchen, where he put a pocket knife to her throat and demanded money. The woman forked over $5 to the suspect, who then went into her garage and stole a laptop computer.

The victim told the suspect she had more money outside in her car, and when the two exited the home, the woman began yelling for help. When she began yelling, that's when police said the suspect left the scene.

The victim described the suspect to police as a black male standing approximately 5'10" and weighing 160 pounds. He was reported as wearing white shoes and a white handkerchief over his face at the time of the incident.
