MB Police investigate broken parking meters found in bush

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A call to Myrtle Beach Police regarding an attempted parking meter theft has led investigators to discover a string of broken meters along 14th Avenue North.

Officers were dispatched to an area of 14th Avenue North and Withers Drive on Tuesday after a woman reported two men attempting to remove a parking meter from its pole. A further check of the immediate area led to the discovery of 10 other damaged meters hidden in a bush.

The witness to the attempted parking meter theft described the suspects as two white males in their early 20s, weighing approximately 120 pounds and standing 5'5" to 5'8".

Reporting officers took pictures of the damaged meters and collected them for processing at the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Anyone with information on the string of damaged parking meters is asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department immediately.
