Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A home sitting along a stretch of Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach was named to the National Register of Historic Places Wednesday during a plaque-mounting ceremony.
The home, owned by Kevin and Mary Cribb, is located on the northwest corner of Ocean Boulevard and 38th Avenue North.
The historic building was previously included in the 1998 listing of the Myrtle Heights-Oak Park neighborhood in the National Register of Historic Places. The neighborhood, consisting of 61 contributing buildings and 20 non-contributing sites, stretches nearly 65 acres from 32nd Avenue North to 46th Avenue North.
A group of residents discussing the expansion of the Myrtle Beach historic district met on Wednesday before the plaque-mounting ceremony. Other homes included in the district will eventually acquire their own National Register plaques.
