Canines, police search for suspect in NMB pharmacy robbery

North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Canine teams are assisting officers in tracking down a suspect involved in a late morning robbery in North Myrtle Beach.

Steven Thomas, assistant city manager for North Myrtle Beach, said the robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. at a CVS Pharmacy in the Windy Hill section of North Myrtle Beach. No injuries were reported in the robbery that ended when the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Officers with the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety are actively searching for the suspect with canine teams. The suspect is being described as a thin, white male standing 6'0" and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red bandana and blue jeans.

Police also said the suspect was carrying a large knife at the time of the incident.

No further information has been made available by officials.
