MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – If you are planning to hit the links this summer, you may want to check out Myrtle Beach National's golf family vacation.

Myrtle Beach Golf has announced a Summer Family Golf Vacation package which includes three rounds of golf, a two-night stay and free golf for kids 16 years-of-age and under with a paying adult.

The package is available on Thursdays through Sundays from June 23 until September 9.  Packages start at $189 per person, which represents a 30 percent savings off the regular price, according to the company.

The participating golf courses include Myrtle Beach National's SouthCreek and West courses, Aberdeen Country Club, Blackmoor Golf Club, Litchfield Country Club, Long Bay Club, River Club, Tradition Golf Club, Wachesaw Plantation East, Waterway Hills and Wild Wing Plantation.

"Myrtle Beach is the ‘Golf Capital of the World' and the home of the kids play golf for free concept," Vice-president Jim Woodring, of golf operations for the Myrtle Beach National Company said. "It is very rare that a package for this price becomes available for any weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day in Myrtle Beach. Plus, the package offers play on some of the finest golf courses along the Grand Strand."

Officers were called to the area of Carver Street, Washington Street and King Street in the City of Myrtle Beach after 3:00 a.m. Friday, according to Sergeant Steven Clothier. Five or six shots fired is what was reported in the original call, Clothier said, several casings were on the ground near the Cover Apartments.
