Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Thousands of basketball players are flocking to North Myrtle Beach to take part in the United States Basketball Association's 2010 National Championship Tournament.
Girls' teams from across the country are competing to become this year's champions. The tournament is being played inside several different gyms inside the city.
"It's certainly a win-win situation for the city, a win-win situation for North Myrtle Beach, a win-win situation the kids of our area who participate in these tournaments, too," said Joseph Quigley, athletic director for North Myrtle Beach High School.
The girls' tournament wraps up Saturday, but the USBA Events run through next month. Boys' teams ages 14-17 will head to North Myrtle Beach July 5-10. Boys' teams competing in the 9-13 will be in town the following week.
