CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - We have all had food delivered to us at some point of our lives and now, a store in Carolina Beach is offering a beer delivery service to those lounging on the sand.
Starting Friday, John Childers, the owner of the Brew Thru store in Carolina Beach, will begin delivering the alcoholic beverage to beachgoers at Freeman Park.
"I hope they are going to be excited," said Childers.
The state allows beer delivery if you have an off premise permit, and Childers even got permission from the Carolina Beach town council.
"We are going to be real careful to make sure everything is by the book," explained Childers.
Those who are thirsty will just have to pick up a phone and call the store, (910) 458-2739, to place an order.
Not everyone is okay with the idea, especially those in law enforcement.
"If you are making easier access to individuals in a location that are drinking and making it easier for them to get alcohol, it's going to enhance other crimes," said Lt. Harold Adams with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
The inaugural delivery will be made to Freeman Park Friday afternoon at 1:00.
