Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Working in scorching temperatures can sometimes be too much to handle, but some have no choice but to deal with the heat.
A crew from Southern Asphalt is working on the roundabout being installed at Coastal Carolina University. Crews there have to deal with the summer heat all day long.
Workers say the high temperatures are draining and the humidity seems to make it worse. Since working in the heat can be dangerous, supervisors from Southern Asphalt say they keep an eye on all of the workers, especially the beginners.
"It's rough," Albert Edge of Southern Asphalt said. "You gotta drink plenty of water, there is no such thing as enough water in this heat."
