MULLINS, SC (WMBF) - A company in Marion County is expanding with 50 new jobs, which is good news to residents who need work.
Boggs Paving says they had a positive experience working with officials in Marion County on their plant expansion plans, located off of Highway 41.
Officials at the Marion Work Force Center say the jobs will help Marion's economy because many people are looking for work.
"Finding one person a job is moving up," Jessica Sawyer said at the One Stop. "So we just have to take it one day at a time. If it's 50 jobs, that is wonderful it maybe a drop in the bucket. I get excited when one person finds employment."
Sawyer says there are other opportunities that are coming available for people in Marion County. She says she cannot go into detail about them, but people need to keep checking in to see what announcements have been made.
She says several announcements have been made and companies like the ACS Landing Gear Company are looking for potential employees right now. The company held interviews on Wednesday and plan for more on Thursday.
"We currently have the ACS landing gear company that is interviewing," Sawyer said. "They have supervisor positions and welding positions available."
