Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Democrat gubernatorial nominee that will face Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikkei Haley made a pit stop in Myrtle Beach Wednesday.
Vincent Sheheen held a news conference today at Wild Creations to talk with voters about the current state of South Carolina.
The Democratic candidate says South Carolina has seen divided approaches in policy, but he plans to work on bringing the state back together. Sheheen also says he will focus on improving the tourism industry if he becomes the next governor of South Carolina.
"Tourism has to be a considered economic development in this state, and that means willingness No. 1 to put the infrastructure in place to promote tourism and that means better road access particularly into Myrtle Beach and into Horry County," Sheheen said.
Sheheen said running against Haley will give voters a different option for governor.
