Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A chemical spill has shut down one lane of traffic on Kings Highway Tuesday evening, as emergency crews work to remove the substance from the roadway.
Officials with Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue say a truck carrying pool cleaning chemicals lost part of its load, sending four containers onto a section of Kings Highway near 13th Avenue South. One of the containers opened, spilling chemicals onto the roadway.
Police have temporarily shut down a southbound lane on Kings Highway near the site of the spill as a traffic precaution. Traffic is expected to return to normal no later than 7 p.m.
