Police: Parking lot sex nets 2 arrests

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police arrested two people on prostitution charges Monday night after undercover investigators say they were having sex in a motel parking lot.

According to a police report, officers noticed a woman walking in the area of 15th Avenue South and Yaupon around 11:30 p.m. Monday. Officers later saw the woman, later identified as Jennifer Leigh Shepherd, 23, of Myrtle Beach, get into a vehicle and drive to the rear parking lot of the Red Roof Inn at 2801 S. Kings Hwy.

The officers approached the vehicle and witness Shepherd and a man identified as Elias Ramirez Guzman, 32, of Myrtle Beach, engaged in sexual intercourse, according to the report.

According to investigators, Shepherd said she was picked up by Guzman, but did not know him. Guzman said he agreed to pay $20 to have sex with Shepherd.

Officers arrested both suspects and charged them with prostitution.
