NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce envisions a $1.8 million, five-year initiative as a public-private partnership effort.

Mark Jordan, President and CEO, outlined the goals of the initiative at tonight's North Myrtle Beach city council meeting and got a positive reception from the mayor and council. The chamber has labeled the initiative 'Building North Myrtle Beach', which Jordan said was to "create the future we want instead of leaving it up to others."

In his presentation to council, Jordan emphasized, "Our intent is to have the initiative predominately privately funded. The chamber expects a commitment from the business community Marc Jordan, President & CEO North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce for $1.5 million for this proposal. We would like the city to invest $100,000 per year for the next three years. We are ready to take action."
