NMB Fire Rescue responds to activated fire sprinkler

North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to a report of a sprinkler going off in a pool chemical room Monday night.

North Myrtle Beach Public Safety received a call around 8 p.m. regarding an incident at Towers on the Grove, 2100 N. Ocean Blvd. Fire Rescue officials say a sprinkler went off in the pool chemical room but there is no fire.

The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported.

About 90 minutes after the report, NMB spokeswoman Nicole Aiello said the situation was under control, and there was no leak. The sprinkler activated due to corrosion, Aiello said.
