SOCASTEE, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach man jailed after a standoff with police early Saturday morning has been released from custody on a $2,000 bond.

Horry County Police responded to reports of a domestic assault in the Peachtree community, located off of SC-544, around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, police allege Charles Dwayne Phillips, 45, would not answer the door or phone.

After several hours of dodging police, Phillips surrendered to authorities on scene. Phillips was  arrested and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm in connection to the incident.

Phillips was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Monday morning after posting bond.
