Darlington Police investigate armed robbery, vehicle theft

Darlington, SC - DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A 47-year-old man claims he was pistol whipped and robbed in the bedroom of a Darlington County home late Thursday morning.

Officers with the Darlington Police Department were dispatched to the home on Gandy Street just before noon after the man reported being attacked by two black males.

The victim told police one suspect grabbed his legs from under a bed while a second suspect pushed him down and jumped on him. A suspect was holding a handgun belonging to the victim and hit the victim in the head with the weapon.

After being hit with the handgun, a police report states the victim was tied to the bed with belts by the two suspects before they fled the residence in the victim's 2003 GMC Sierra truck.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male standing between 6'8" and 6'10". He was wearing a white tank-top and black pants at the time of the incident. The second suspect, described as standing between 5'10" and 6'3", was wearing a black T-shirt featuring a picture of Tupac Shakur.

Anyone with information on the location of the two suspects is asked to call the Darlington Police Department immediately.
