Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Two people have been arrested in Myrtle Beach Wednesday on prostitution charges after police caught the duo publicly engaging in sexual acts.
A patrolling officer was tipped off to the potential prostitution activity after witnessing a woman walking along Myrtle Street before getting into a minivan. The officer followed the van until it pulled into a dead end of a parking lot along ABC Lane.
Police allege the woman was engaging in a sexual act with the van's driver as officers approached the suspected vehicle. When confronted, the woman denied any sexual acts were being performed with the driver; however, the driver admitted to a prostitution deal.
The woman, identified as Mindy Marie Weaver, 35, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with prostitution and transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail. Records reveal Wednesday's arrest was Weaver's third for prostitution.
Oscar Wayne Johnson, 38, of Loris, was also charged with prostitution by police and immediately jailed.
