Longs, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Police in Horry County believe a fire that damaged a home in Longs could be connected to an arson case in the Wampee section of the county.

Lt. Jamie DeBari, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, said investigators were dispatched to 2476 Sanford Rd. on June 4 following reports of a suspicious fire.

After initiating an investigation, police announced they have reason to believe the fire is connected to an arson on March 15 along Dewitt Road.

Officers discovered Wilson's Barbershop engulfed in flames on March 15 while patrolling the Wampee section of Horry County. Emergency responders sought the owner of the barbershop at their home on Dewitt road to notify them of the fire when they were told someone fired shots into their home.

The victims told investigators they were awakened by the shots, but were unable to locate a possible suspect outside of their home.

Agents with the Horry County Police Criminal Investigations Division continue to identify any links between the March 15 and June 4 fires.

Anyone with information regarding the March 15 or June 4 fires is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at (843) 915-8345.
