Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Two remaining people eyed as suspects in a June 8 shooting on South Dargan Street in Florence have been located and arrested in Darlington Tuesday afternoon.
Maj. Carlos Raines, spokesman for the Florence Police Department, said Cornelius Samuel Cade and Travis Michael Coward were located at a mobile home on Woodchuck Drive and taken into custody.
The duo, both of Florence, are now each facing two charges of attempted murder and one count of criminal conspiracy in connection to the shooting incident that occurred at 708 S. Dargan St. Witnesses told police a car pulled up to the address around 9 p.m. and fired shots.
A bullet grazed the face of a female victim, while a second bullet struck the side of a 17-year-old male. The male underwent surgery shortly after the shooting, but investigators have not made his condition or identity public.
Florence Police say they found the vehicle involved in the incident and arrested a 16-year-old who was involved. The teen, according to authorities, was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. He was arraigned on two counts of attempted murder and one count of criminal conspiracy.
A fourth suspect, identified as 17-year-old Demetrious Sparks, surrendered to authorities Saturday around 11 p.m. Sparks faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of conspiracy in connection to the incident.
Sparks also faces a previous assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature charge, in addition to a charge for presenting a firearm. The charges stem from an incident on June 5 at the Mt. Zion Apartments where police say Sparks pulled a gun on a victim after asking for a cigarette.
Raines said Sparks later returned to the incident location with a group of men who approached the victim, threatened him and proceeded to beat him up.
Sparks is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center. Cade and Coward are currently at the Florence Police Department.
