Brunswick County, NC - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - After the American Red Cross announced its O-negative blood supply was at critically low levels, the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has announced its teaming up with the organization for a blood drive.
The Blue Line Blood Drive will be held at the Brunswick County Government Center on June 30 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Despite the dangerously low levels of O-negative blood, all blood types are needed by the American Red Cross. Those who donate at the June 30 drive will receive an American Red Cross reusable shopping bag and will be automatically entered to win a cruise for two.
The inaugural Blue Line Blood Drive in 2009 netted 75 donors, according to organizers. This year, the department's goal is to rise above that number.
