SCDPS: 4 killed on SC roadways over weekend

Columbia, SC - COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - Four people were killed on South Carolina roadways over the weekend, according to the latest fatality report from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Those killed over the weekend were involved in accidents between Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at midnight. Three were killed along US routes, state roadways and secondary roads. Two motorcyclists and one moped operator were among those killed.

As of June 13, the SCDPS says 345 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 397 highway deaths during the same time period in 2009.

Of the 262 vehicle occupants who have died in 2010, 145 were not wearing seatbelts.
