Cause of Little River home remains unknown

Little River, SC - LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) - A Little River home was destroyed by fire Monday started in a bedroom, investigators said, but the exact cause is undetermined.

Horry County Fire Rescue Deputy Investigator James Cyganiewicz aid the fire in Windjammer Village originated in the back bedroom of the residence. Due to the extensive damage to the property, the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 2210 Swamp Fox Circle in Little River at 10:26 a.m. Monday. HCFR spokeswoman Leslie Yancey said sever trucks responded to the scene to control the blaze, but were unable to save the home.

Yancey said no one was home when the fire started. One firefighter was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for heat exhaustion.

No other homes were damaged by the fire.

Firefighters from Horry County Fire Rescue, North Myrtle Beach Fire Department and Calabash Fire Department battled the blaze.
