BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The execution of a search warrant on June 4 in Sunset Beach has led to the arrest of one person, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. April Gause, spokeswoman for the department, said the Drug Enforcement Unit executed the warrant after getting probable cause that a Psilocybin mushroom clandestine laboratory was being operated in Sunset Beach. The laboratory was said to be operating at a home at 8922 Carra Ln.

During the search, agents seized approximately 47 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, 32 grams of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia from the home.

Mushrooms, according to a press release, were found growing inside plastic containers. Other mushrooms have already been cropped and packaged for sale at the time of the discovery.

Ronald Ishman Grimsley II, 20, of Sunset Beach, was arrested at the time of the search on controlled substance violations. He is currently being held at the Brunswick County Detention Facility on a $50,000 secured bond.
