North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Former North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Director William Bailey has filed a lawsuit against the City of North Myrtle Beach.
Bailey is suing the city in a more than 30 page lawsuit for wrongful discharge, emotional distress, conspiracy, defamation and other charges.
He is seeking more than ten million dollars in damages from the city.
Bailey was demoted and later fired from his job as Public Safety Director after his weapon was stolen from his vehicle.
Bailey was accused of misleading the city about whether or not his weapon was locked inside his vehicle.
