Olanta closing town hall 2 days per week to save money

Olanta, SC - OLANTA, SC (WMBF) - Olanta town officials have decided the way to save money on a tight budget is to only have town hall open three days per week.

With the 2010 fiscal year bearing down, Olanta Mayor Jimmy McCutcheon said shutting down the town hall two days per week would trim $15,000-$20,000 and prevent a tax increase.

Town Council agreed to the move about two weeks ago. Council members will determine what Town Hall's hours will be at a special meeting at the end of June.
