One arrested in Dillon double shooting

Dillon, SC - DILLON, SC (WMBF) - A man has been charged in connection with a double shooting that happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Capt. Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff's Office.

James Sellers, from Dillon, has been charged with assault and battery with the intent to kill.

Arnette says Sellers was in an argument with another man outside the Newtown Mini Mart on Lockemy Highway in the Newtown community, an unincorporated area outside Dillon City Limits.

At some point Sellers shot the other man in the abdomen, according to police.  Sellers was also shot in the leg, but officials say it is unknown at this time how he was shot because the victim was not found with a gun.

Sellers was arrested after he was treated and released from a hospital.  The other man is still in the hospital.
