Florence, SC - From Francis Marion University
FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University has announced that 5-7 guard Brittany Christian of Raleigh, N.C., has signed a national letter of intent to attend FMU and play for the Patriots this fall.
Christian is a product of Wakefield High School, where she played for coaches Danielle Blackburn and Jenis Grindstaff.
As a senior, she averaged 15.8 points, two assists, and two steals per game while reaping both All-Conference and Academic All-Conference recognition. An 85 percent free throw shooter, she helped lead the Lady Wolverines to a 19-8 record. She also earned first-team All-Conference honors as a junior.
Francis Marion returns eight letterwinners from last season's 27-5 squad that ended the year ranked 20th nationally and made the program's third consecutive NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance.
