Truck runs off road in Socastee

Socastee, SC - SOCASTEE, SC (WMBF) – A crash on Highway 707 in Horry County backed up traffic and caused injuries Saturday night.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. along Highway 707 near the post office.

According to a witness, a Nissan Titan pick-up truck hit a power line, snapping the pole in half. The truck then crashed into the brick subdivision entrance sign of Brynfield Park.

One person on the scene, who witnessed the truck hitting the transformer on the power line, described it as an explosion.

The Highway Patrol and Horry County Fire and Rescue responded to the accident.
