Robber flees after clerk says 'No' to demand for cash

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A would-be robber left a Myrtle Beach convenience store empty handed early Friday morning after the 52-year-old store clerk said she wouldn't give him any money.

The clerk at the Circle K at 6501 N. Kings Hwy. told police she was working around 3 a.m. when the suspect walked inside and demanded cash from the register. The woman said the suspect got angry when she told him "No" and acted as if he was going to hit her with an object, but turned and ran away instead.

According to the report, surveillance video caught the incident on camera.

The suspect is described as a white man standing 5'5" to 5'8" tall and weighing 135-150 pounds. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans and was wearing a white and yellow mask with sunglasses.
