Andrews, SC - GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A teenage boy is facing charges for allegedly pointing a gun at employees of an Andrews business Wednesday morning.
According to Sgt. Russell Goodale with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, employees at the former Oneita plant on Conifer Street saw the teen and confronted him about trespassing. They told investigators they were trying to detain him until Andrews Police or deputies could arrive, but the juvenile pointed what appeared to be a handgun and fled.
Investigators found the teen at a home on North Morgan Avenue in Morgan less than an hour later. The boy told deputies he had been using the area as a hideout.
Goodale said the boy has been charged as a juvenile with trespassing and pointing and presenting a firearm. He is currently be held by the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. Bond has not yet been set.
