Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - An Horry County committee is looking to enact an ordinance that could change how county residents hold yard sales.
The Horry County Infrastructure and Regulation Committee met Wednesday to consider an ordinance that would limit the number of yard sales people could have in a given year. They are proposing four per year for private residences and six for civic institutions and non-profit organizations.
The ordinance would also restrict yard sales from being conducted on empty lots, or lots not owned by those hosting the sale.
An Horry County woman is also being forced to give up her mini horses because she didn't own enough property to comply with county codes. The committee considered an appeal from the woman on the county's exotic pets rule, but opted against an amendment and ordered the woman to give the horses up for adoption.
