CCU women's track and field finishes 2nd day of NCAA First Round

Myrtle Beach, SC - From Coastal Carolina University:

GREENSBORO, NC – The Coastal Carolina University women's track and field team concluded day two of the first round of the NCAA Championship in Greensboro, NC, on Friday with Ikeiylah Brown qualifying to the second round in the 200 meters.

Brown automatically qualified for the second round after finishing second in her heat with a time of 23.92.  In tomorrow's semifinal race, the top three in each heat plus the three next best times will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Brittany Connor competed in her first of two events at the NCAA Championships, throwing 167'6" (51.06m) in the hammer throw to place 38th out of 48 competitors.

Both athletes will compete in the final day with Brown in the semifinals of the 200 meters and Connor in the discus.
