North Myrtle Beach, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A second property at North Myrtle Beach's Barefoot Resort is facing foreclosure troubles, according to online court documents obtained by WMBF News.
Officials have confirmed Waterway Marina LLC has filed a foreclosure lawsuit against Premier Resorts and Barefoot Resort Club LLC. The lawsuit was filed in the Horry County Court of Common Pleas on May 19.
Pete Bine, a realtor with Tradd Commercial, said the marina involved in the foreclosure will remain open and fully operational. Lenders have taken control of the property and will continue with its management.
The marina's foreclosure comes as a second hit to the North Myrtle Beach property, following the abrupt closure of Premier Resorts at Barefoot Resort in October 2009.
Premier Resort officials said they received a court order from the bank presiding over the resort and took possession of the property. Court documents later revealed Premier Resorts filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in April 2009.
Premier Resorts is based out of Park City, UT.
