Horry County, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Schools has received six awards from the South Carolina chapter of the National School Public Relations Association this week, as it honored the effectiveness of 70 projects across the state.
Teal Britton, spokeswoman for Horry County Schools, says the district received more awards than any other school district in district-level competition. Awards were given to Horry County Schools in the special purpose publication, handbook, calendar, website, electronic newsletter and annual report categories.
This annual recognition program celebrates outstanding communications and public relations efforts by South Carolina schools, school districts, and education agencies and associations.
The state chapter is an affiliate of the National School Public Relations Association. More than 100 school public relations practitioners, superintendents, and other education professionals from across the state are chapter members.
The organization strives to foster training and career development in the field of school public relations and to encourage meaningful community involvement in and understanding of South Carolina's public school systems.
