Trio arrested in Little River drug investigation

Little River, SC - LITTLER RIVER, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Police have arrested and charged three people after an undercover narcotics investigation in Little River.

Detectives began investigating an area near Bellamy Drive in Little for after reports of illegal drug activity on May 26, according to HCPD spokesman Sgt. Robert Kegler. During the investigation, an undercover officer bought crack cocaine from two suspects on Bellamy Drive. Kegler said a third person was arrested in the area for driving under suspension when driving to the area where the drug transaction took place.

Krishmer Shamar Bessent, 31, and Jerry Wayne Vereen, 55, both of Little River, were charged with distribution of crack cocaine. Both men are being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Christopher Michael Hardy, 26, of Calabash, NC, is charged with driving under suspension. He has been released on $652.50 bond.
