Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (AP) - Four groups are making sure that ocean water testing continues on the Myrtle Beach coast.
The South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium, the Coastal Conservation Association, Coastal Carolina University and SC Department of Natural Resources hold a news briefing in Myrtle Beach on Friday to announce the effort.
The Sea Grant Consortium and Coastal Conservation Association recently provided money to Coastal Carolina to continue data collection.
Surface and bottom water quality data, including dissolved oxygen, temperature and salinity, are collected every 15 minutes and posted on the internet.
The monitoring instruments are located at the pier at the Apache Family Campground in Myrtle Beach.
