MB traffic safety checkpoint nets 6 arrests, 53 citations

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A traffic safety checkpoint conducted by officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department on Wednesday has led to the arrest of six people.

Sgt. John Bertang, traffic division supervisor for Myrtle Beach Police, said 728 vehicles were checked during the sweep along South Ocean Boulevard.

Officers issued tickets for the following violations:

  • 19 driver's license violations
  • 10 vehicle license violations
  • 1 equipment violation
  • 3 driving under suspension
  • 3 illegal drug cases
  • 6 other moving violations
  • 11 no proof of insurance violations

A total of 53 citations and six arrests were made.
